Pits of Passion

Passion Pit played a mid-week gig on Governor's Island. We joined the masses (approx. 7000 apparently) on the ferry and headed over to the island for some sweet tunes.

The location of the concert was different from the last concert we went to on the island. Rather than a stage next to the water ('the beach'), looking over Manhattan, the stage was in land in a field surrounded by trees and old colonial buildings ('Colonel's row').

We scored a possie up front and chilled for a bit - that is until the bands started playing. The speaker in front of us had the bass turned up soo soo loud that you could feel the reverberations in every part of your body.

The opening bands for Passion Pit were Tokyo Police Club, We Were Promised Jetpacks (Scotland) & Suckers. The Jetpacks were AWESOME! It was Passion Pit's final show of their tour so they were pretty pumped.

Doing a spot of reading while waiting in the long ferry line to get to the island.

This guy had my name (well, almost) tattooed on his arm!
We Were Promised Jetpacks.

Crazy! We caught up with a buddy (Mr A.S-C.) we made at the Darwin Deez gig.
Yeahhhh!!!

When the gig ended - 7000 people did an about-turn and rushed for the ferries. Urgh! It was chaos and mayhem. The line moved bumper-to-bumper so slowly. It took us 1 hour to even get on the ferry home. That's the only problem with going to a gig on an island.
Grrrrr.
