My Melbourne - the week gone by

FULL of house inspections and work. and getting off the tram two stops early in the freezing cold.

But saved by impromptu Jazz gigs (thanks for the tix Special K).

Amazing fog - which an old biddy tried to tell us was ash from Chilean volcano.  We hadn't heard of the eruption at that stage so we thought she was crazy.  It still probably wasn't ash though.

Brighton. Looking out over the bay. And at a boy.

Brighton and city engulfed in fog.

Day trippin' down to Flinders and Somers on the Mornington Peninsula over the long weekend.  Just wait until I find the picture of the vanilla custard we bought and (part) ate.  It's claim to fame was the biggest and the best.  Well it certainly was the biggest.
Sunday back in the city. Getting packed up and ready to head to Woodend.  I love laundromats.  and trams.  and laundromats.

Footy for the Queens Birthday (she would have wanted us to).  But it was a little sad as our boys got smashed.   Then a week of commuting to the city by the train (early rises), bed shopping,  and.... drum roll.... getting approval for our rental. yay.

the big Move to the big M

Two short weeks ago....

Coffee with my fave ladies.
A few tears. Many hugs.
Only a plane ride away, right?
Right?

Arrival.  Greeted by cute boy.  Wow - it's all happening!
Much needed tapas and prosecco (on the back of only 2 hours sleep).
Gallery opening and intimate gig.
Followed the next day by some exploring of the neighbourhood
(Page street, AND little Page street.  I wanna live there!)
As well as coffee at 'Three Bags Full' to keep us going.

Footy!! Go the Dees!  Catch ups with cool kids.
Sitting next to the angriest woman in Melbourne.
Not K, the woman on other side ;)
And that was even before her team lost.
Wandering back to town with the masses to catch the tram home and catch up on some much needed sleep before a packed day of house hunting.
Ready. Steady. Go!

Ahh. Pretty flowers and sunshine make the stress of house hunting all ok.

So does coffee, fresh juice and 'the quiz' at a near by cafe - 'Green'
Dinner at cheap, chic and cheery 'Banff' cafe in St Kilda. Followed by birthday drinks for and with some pals. Short lived for this tired girl though.

Sunday morning strolls along St Kilda 'beach'.  I guess it's a beach right?  Well anyway, it was sunny albeit fresh.  A perfect refreshing Sunday morning. Hello Melbourne!

Date night

Last-minute laneway dumplings (Hu Tong). Delish (spinach dumplings with chilli sauce).  Cheap Tuesday movie (Source Code). Jumping on a tram to head home (number 112). Snuggling up inside to avoid the bitter cold (ahhhh).
