The next few days

I'm off to Lorne for some days of thinking/breathing/sleeping/cuddling/walking/cooking/eating/talking. It's finally here. Not sure what it holds but waiting with baited breath. Thinking good things - if only some clarity comes from it all.

The black line

I spent a few hours yesterday looking at this black line. It was so peaceful, sunny and fresh-feeling. Then I lay pool-side and read my book. I dropped in to Mr and Mrs S's place to help them prep for painting and had hang outs for the arvo. Then the big sissa and I walked the big girl and finished off the night with Thai. I think (after 100 visits) the tattooed thai lady is starting to recognise that we order the SAME thing everytime we go and we don't need the menu ;)

There has been quite a bit of overwhelming things happen recently so I'm just trying to take stock and keep focused on the things I'm looking forward to: Lady Gaga tonight, coast trips with my faves, sydney trips and then ANZAC day/departure day.

I had a great breakfast with my Canberra miss A and we talked babies (she is about to be an aunty) and everything in between. Then I did some more laps at the AIS for the relay for life. Plenty of thinking time walking around and round the track - not necessarily a good thing ;)

Up to season 5 of Entourage. Obviously showing my dedication to watching tv in 'down' times at the moment. What will distract me when I finish 5?

Books

Now that I'm 'in between job's (whatever that means) I have so much more time and energy to get back into reading. Which I love!

Here are some recent ones that I am into:


This was suggested to me by two lovely ladies. The instructions were to 'read it in one sitting, perhaps over a weekend or something'. It consists of a series of letters written between different characters but mostly by author Juliette.


Miss B recommended Blink - Its pretty interesting so far. Essentially it analyses our split second judgements in a 'blink' of an eye and whether these are any different/better than judgements made after we are informed about something.
I have to admit - I picked this book up THREE times and tried to read it but I couldn't get passed the first 20 pages. So. I cheated. I watched the movie. IT WAS AMAZING. best movie I have seen in a long time. It has now inspired me to go back and read the book as I'm sure there was a lot that was left out of the movie.

The week that was...

This week started off in Brisvegas with one of my most favourite ladies - Miss R.
Drinks and many chats with Miss C and Mr K - drinks on the lawn and being escorted back into the premises!

Wow! It has been a fantastico week. Plenty of walking, exploring, eating, talking, movie watching, book reading, swims, gym classes...! And now back home again.

This is one of my all time favourite pictures of my mumma and my big sissa. You can't see her skirt but it was my favourite skirt to dress up in - delicate floral print in apricot and grey. It was perfect for twirling.

The coolest/weirdest/creepiest piece of art at the modern art museum - a taxidermied elk was purchased on ebay, and covered in glass/resin marbles and crystal balls of varying sizes! amazing. Japanese artist - Kohei Nawa.

The lead up to (f)unemployment

The night I packed up my little office there was the most amazing mushroom cloud outside my window. It was peaceful and I looked longingly at the stream from jet plane as it took off for far off and exciting lands.
