Sunshine. On my window. Makes me happy

Saturday.
Was.
Amazing.
No really.
The sun was amazing.
Glorious, glorious sunshine.

I also did some exploring of our new city.  It made my heart melt.

Snapshots on the way to work

We've been walking to work a bit at the moment.  Occassionally stopping to get a coffee.  It makes me late for work (if you consider 9am late), but those extra 30mins -1hour that I have for me in the morning are so important.  It makes me feel alive to feel the fresh air and sunshine first thing in the morning.
It's the small things.

And other times a 6am start means you get to see the sun coming up.

Date night

When I saw the preview for the movie 'Love etc.'  online I was so excited about the film's release.
I looked up screenings in Australia and to my surprise there was only one screening.  In Brighton, which is about 15 minutes drive from where we live.  The insightful people at the Bay Film Festival selected this movie for their opening night.

My cute boy suprised me with tickets when it didn't seem possible to go, and even then we had to sit in the front row as the movie was almost sold out.  I adored the movie.   The people were so engaging.  It showed every facet of love.  The good, the bad, the awkward, the hopeful and the sad.  The old brooklyn couple were wonderful.  So sweet and loving and also bitter sweet given her dementia.   She was so loving and childlike. One of my favourite lines was when her husband, after cutting up her dinner while she appeared catatonic, said 'Do you want to listen to the music or want me to turn it off?'.   She looked up at him and said 'I want to listen to you.'

I sincerely hope that film distributors pick this movie up and run it in cinemas nationally.  It's a wonderful indie film.

Followed by the film, we stopped into a new modern vietnamese restaurant that apparently had a two month wait for a table.  Given we arrived at 9:30pm it was a bit of a gamble as to whether we'd be seated.  Apparently it was our lucky night.  Way to top off a surprising and lovely date night.
