T-mania travels
Earlier this year the boy and I escaped to Tassie. In fact, we saw in 2012 in Tassie at Marion Bay. It was exactly the break I needed. I adored Tasmania. The fresh air, the colours, the food, the landscape, the architecture. All of it. We camped mostly which was very budget friendly considering we were pretty stretched around the Christmas break. But that made it extra fun - scouting out for the best campsite.
Pics from the trip keep staring me in the face in my Iphone gallery (only a small part of the 2000+ photos), reminding me that I haven't saved the memory anywhere (other than in my head, obviously).
Unfortunately in all the excitement prepping for the trip I neglected to charge my camera battery and was limited to Iphone pics only. They didn't turn out too badly if I do say so myself. See for yourself.
P.s. apologies for the picture dump, but I couldn't choose which were my favourites to share. I am my mother's daughter, I have another 300 which I culled to get to this lot ;)
The one and only photo I got to take on my camera before the battery died :(
Hello Bernie.
Cradle Mountain from afar.
This little guy was just cruising around at Cradle Mountain.
Camping dinner. Beers and cheese! Ha. Well, we had to try the local produce, N'est pas?!
Haha - The boy with a map of tassie on his face. Literally!
Caves on the drive north to Deloraine to see Mr Lester.
Highland lakes drive. Beautiful but took FOREVER to get to Hobart.
The end of the Sydney to Hobart. The boy and the winning boat.
Hobart harbour.
Look-y-here! A nice surprise catching these two Canberra ladies at Taste of Tasmania. What would we do without FB checkins to give others' locations away!
Falls. Nouvelle Vague.
NYE 2011.
New Years Day 2012!
Port Arthur.
Back in Hobart. Testing out the ciders. Oyster infused I believe this one was... eww.
Yummy fish sausages, craft beer and Hobart Harbour. Taste festival.
Top of Mount Wellington. W-ind-y!
Beers and wines and cheese on the lawn. Our staple diet in tassie really. Plus the odd oyster. Delish.
On the drive north to Coles Bay, Freycinet. The blown-out thongs get a fitting farewell.
Coles Bay. Stunning.
After the hike up to wineglass bay. Stunning.
Pitching a tent next (unbeknown to us at the time, to the most useless and rude humans ever!)
Friendly Beach.
Stunning. Are you catching a theme here? Can't think of any other words that describe it.
The best tent. EVER. A tee pee with bunting out the front.
Rainbows. Could this place get any better!
Oh, yeah. It could. 4 January 2012. Dolphins jumping in the waves at sunrise.
Watching sunrise.
A little dip for the brave.
Bay of fires after stopping at the best bakery in Tassie (Bicheno)
Secluded beach.
Drive north to Launceston. Ferns.
Fresh berries.
Drinks and tapas at Stillwater.
Fresh on Charles. Yummo. Cute little vego cafe.
Cateract Gorge.
Last eve in Tassie. What a wonderfully splendid break. Tassie, you really impressed me. I'll be back. Until then I'll just blog about you 8 months after visiting. :/

Flying in a small plane. Feeling like rock stars.

On the boat to MONA. Saw dophins in the Derwent River 2 minutes after taking this photo.
